Care Home in Bromley

Welcome to Bromley Park Care Centre; a specialist nursing and dementia care home in a residential area of Bromley on the Kent-London border.

Home from home

Bromley Park is a grand Georgian building, refurbished to a high standard whilst retaining many wonderful period features. Our rooms are spacious and bright with wide corridors and lift access making it easy to move around the Home. We personalise each bedroom and encourage residents to bring their own furnishings, special knick-knacks and photographs to make a familiar and homely environment that they feel comfortable in.

Our three lounges are large with modern, yet traditional décor, comfortable seats, and doors that open out onto the garden – perfect for socialising, enjoying activities or spending time with family and friends. Refurbishments are also being made to our bathrooms to include state of the art sensor taps and sanitaryware.

Our garden is often used for tending to the flowers and vegetables, sharing a picnic or simply enjoying the fresh air. We’re also very proud of our tomato plants which our Chef is quick to take from the greenhouse and put to good use in the kitchen!

A holistic approach

We take a holistic approach to the care and well-being of all our residents and work hard to create an environment that feels like a real ‘home from home’.

We take time to reminisce with our residents using personalised photos, music and videos. This creates an amazing talking point, sparks conversation and allows Carers to really get to know our residents so much better.

Bromley Park is also proud to be following the Gold Standards Framework training programme to support its commitment to providing outstanding standards of care.

Resident of the Day

Our ‘Resident of the Day’ initiative helps each member of the team understand residents’ likes, dislikes and the things that really make a difference to them. All team members  whether Carers, Nurses, Housekeepers or Maintenance find out what’s important to each individual and give them the opportunity to pick their favourite meal for Chef to prepare, choose an activity they would like to do or add any special touches to their room. Family members are invited to be part of these reviews and we always give feedback when their loved one has been Resident of the Day.

Recreation and leisure

On any given day our Home is a filled with activity and entertainment. Whether this be visits from our regular singers, dancers and petting zoos or firm favourites such as bingo and karaoke. Our ‘Bromley Park’s Got Talent’ show definitely brings out the best in both residents and team members and showcases all manner of hidden talents! Our minibus is also on hand for trips to the park, browsing the shops, lunch at the local coffee shop, watching a film at the cinema and visits to the golf course.

A shared Nellsar culture

As part of a group of Care Homes, we are extremely proud of our caring, supportive culture which embodies empathy, equity, professionalism and continuous improvement. Our shared values focus on the individual – from residents to team members – creating an inclusive environment with both residents and team members at the heart of what we do every day.

Wholesome homemade food

Our wonderful team of Cooks create homemade meals every day and work closely with our Nutrition and Wellness Manager, Leni, to make sure that dietary needs and personal preferences are catered for. As we all ‘eat with our eyes’ first, we cook display plates for the dishes-of-the-day (meat, vegetarian and soft food options) before mealtimes to encourage personal choice.

We also create ‘taster menus’ with fresh ingredients and seasonal produce and invite residents (and their relatives) to join us for tasting sessions to maintain the quality and variety of our menus. An exciting new ‘grow what you eat’ initiative is also being introduced with a new greenhouse being prepped in anticipation!

In the dining room our ‘Hydration Station’ allows residents to enjoy an array of fresh, cool drinks throughout the day. Mealtimes are relaxed and sociable with table service and support from our Dining Assistants. However, residents can of course choose to eat their meals wherever they feel comfortable.

A ‘Memory Wall’ is displayed in the entrance to our Home to show relatives and visitors all the wonderful events and activities their loved ones have been taking part in. We also generate some healthy competition with our sister Homes by taking part in regular Nellsar competitions such as ‘Nellsar in Bloom’ in the summer months and charity fundraising events throughout the year.
