Wow, what a week we’ve had here at Bromley Park Care Home – so many activities, so little time! We started with our ‘girlie’ reads, diving into magazines full of new trends. Not all of them were quite to our taste, but that only made it more fun!
We had a good laugh reminiscing about our fashion choices from years gone by – even more so when remembering some of the questionable outfits our children wore! Moments like these are so special. Sharing memories with our residents is so heartwarming, reminding us how meaningful these connections truly are.
Next, we enjoyed some creative rock painting together. Some might think painting rocks sounds a little silly, but our crafty residents threw themselves into it with their usual enthusiasm. It was a simple yet deeply enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. Each painted rock will soon be placed in our remembrance water feature – a beautiful and thoughtful way to honour special people, moments and memories. Watching how engaged everyone was was simply lovely. Sometimes, the simplest activities bring the greatest joy.
And we had some friendly competition too! Our lively ball games always bring out everyone’s playful side. Don’t be fooled by those sweet faces — when the ball comes out, it’s game on! Our spirited residents dive right in, each determined to win. The laughter, banter and sheer energy in the room were great fun – belly laughs all round!
To top things off, our sporting stars got stuck into some seated exercise. Using pool noodles cut to size, everyone focused on fun and gentle movement – though of course, there’s always a bit of cheeky rebellion thrown in! The light-hearted atmosphere makes for plenty of giggles and fantastic interaction between our residents, team members and even visitors who can’t resist joining in. Keeping our amazing residents happy and active is what our work is all about. Their joy truly is our joy.
What a privilege it is to care for such a wonderful group of people here at Bromley Park.
