Bonus Pastor Catholic College Penpals
Our ladies and gents here at Bromley Park Care Home were delighted to receive letters from students at Bonus Pastor Catholic College recently. They contacted us through our website and kindly asked if they could write to the residents.
Students Hannah and Keira’s wonderful act of kindness was exactly what we all needed. They sent through lots of lovely letters, notes, jokes and word-searches for the residents to enjoy.
A virtual trip to China
Bromley Park Care Home residents are set to enjoy months of fun armchair travel ‘Around the World with Nellsar Cruises’. Viv Stead, Recreation and Well-Being Manager for Nellsar, devised a wonderful adventure for our residents with destinations a-plenty throughout Spring-Summer 2021.
The global tour began on 12 February in Hong Kong, as we celebrated Chinese New Year. We decorated the Home with Chinese lanterns and bunting, and many residents enjoyed a themed lunch and fancy dress accessories. Next stop – India – on 10 March!
Recent birthdays at Bromley Park
Everyone wished our resident Jeanie a very happy birthday recently; she enjoyed her birthday and she was thoroughly spoilt by all her friends and family! Jeanie enjoyed a wonderful window visit from her family, with lots of presents and cake.
Our lovely Jean celebrated her 70th birthday this year. The Chefs here at Bromley Park created a Percy Pig inspired cake for Jean to celebrate her special day. Happy Birthday Jean, we all love you so much!
We celebrated our lady Dorothy’s birthday with a beautiful cake created by Chef Sanoj. Dorothy had a wonderful day and she really enjoyed her cake.
Eric enjoyed a fun-filled birthday recently and he loved his chocolate cake. Happy Birthday Eric, we hope you enjoyed your special day!
Springtime gardening and crafts
Our Dorothy recently enjoyed a spot of indoor gardening – planting seeds ready for the warmer months that are on the way. Dorothy’s favourite flowers are marigolds – we hope her green fingers produce a good show this year! Dorothy and Kath also turned their hands to crafts and created some beautiful pink pom pom hearts.
Baking Club
Feeling inspired by our amazing Kitchen team here at Bromley Park, our resident Peter really enjoyed baking a batch of biscuits – we all enjoyed eating them as well! Kath also helped make some beautiful cookies during Baking Club.
Parachute games and dancing
Our residents Dorothy, Kath and Peter enjoyed some light exercise and fun games with the parachute, and Christine and Healthcare assistant Georgina can be seen busting some moves during a dance class!
