Bromley Park Care Home residents take a trip to Biggin Hill Memorial Museum

Our lovely Bromley Park Care Home residents Stephen and Dorothy enjoyed a trip to Biggin Hill Memorial Museum with our Activity Coordinator Donna last week.

The museum ‘tells the story of Britain’s most famous fighter station through the personal experiences of those who served there, and the community that supported them. The building is situated on the same site as St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance, built in 1951 to preserve the legacy of those who served and died at Biggin Hill during the Second World War. The museum safeguards the future of this important building’ (bhmm.org.uk)

Stephen and Dorothy explored the main chapel, gardens, cafe and had access to the exhibition spaces which they thoroughly enjoyed.

They also used the ‘discovery tablet‘ that was designed to enrich visitors’ experience through additional storytelling, special films and photographs. This really brought the exhibition to life and was a wonderful was to reminisce about the past.

It was a fun and fascinating day, enjoyed by all three.
