This week our residents at Bromley Park Care Home enjoyed a sensory activity with fresh fruit and vegetables.
They loved smelling and feeling a selection of fruit and vegetables, including a pineapple, swede, kiwi, ginger, garlic and lime – they were all curious about what we had on display.
Kathy enjoyed feeling the skin of the pineapple against her hands and Peter read its label and discovered it had come from Costa Rica. He was also surprised that our melon had come all the way from Brazil!
Dorothy D has been enjoying looking through a magazine called ‘Fashion for Royals‘ with our Recreation and Well-Being Coordinator Donna. Dorothy was a seamstress for the company that made clothes for Princess Diana, so it was right up her street!
And it was lovely to see Eily enjoying a card from one of her lifelong friends – she had a big smile on her face!
