We are delighted that our Bromley Park Care Home Trainer Joyce met with Laura, Senior Falls Physiotherapist and Falls trainer for FinCH (Falls in Care Home) research project last week. Laura visited us on Tuesday to present our Certificate of Participation in the FinCH Research Project in association with University of Nottingham.
FinCH is a multi-centre trial to evaluate the Guide to Action Care Home fall prevention programme in care homes for older people.
It involves the completion of a robust checklist assessment which looks at the causes of falls in a holistic approach, reviewing residents’ past and present medical conditions, cognition, eating, drinking, medication and environment.
The training program and checklist is completed using a whole-team approach and Joyce has been instrumental in the success of the program at Bromley Park.
