Last week at Bromley Park Care Home we were able to make the wish of our residents come true when we took a trip out to the seaside on Wednesday 16 August.
The outing took lots of careful planning from our management and Nursing team, working in coordination with our Carers and Activity Team. We were supported by our Manager John, Sam our Activity Coordinator, Christine, Joyce and some of our amazing Care Team staff members Janet and Kayleigh. Not forgetting our Maintenance Man Colin who kindly drove us to the coast and helped to support our residents on the trip.
The trip to Herne Bay was an amazing day for everyone and had been requested by our residents after we won Nellsar’s Coronation crafty crown competition early in the year. Everyone who worked on the Wednesday of the trip made this an extra special day for our residents – including a themed beach day at our Home hosted by Louisa and Douglas.
Ellen, one of our lovely residents, was very excited to meet her two daughters down at Herne Bay. They enjoyed fish and chips together and also tucked into a nice ice cream to cool off from the heat of the day.
Jean was so happy and joyful to be at the seaside and was pointing to different things she could see and then smiling.
Another of our ladies was very happy and talkative and was telling our staff about different cruises she’d been on, saying that she loved the seaside.
Rita was looking forward to having her fish and chips and expressed that she had had such a lovely day and that she would like to do it again sometime.
Engin was so happy to be at the seaside too and was talking about how she would like to do this trip again. She also loves the sea.
We all enjoyed such a wonderful day together, under blue skies with lots of fresh air. Thank you to everyone who came to make it such a memorable day for our residents and loved ones.
