Bromley Park Care Home residents reminisce at Biggin Hill Museum

A group of our residents from Bromley Park Care Home spent a lovely morning out at Biggin Hill Memorial Museum last week.

The museum tells the story of RAF Biggin Hill through the personal experiences of those who served there, and the community who supported them. The museum is situated on the same site as St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance, built in 1951 to preserve the legacy of those who served and died at Biggin Hill during the Second World War. The museum safeguards the future of this important building. (www.bhmm.org.uk)

Our gentlemen thoroughly enjoyed the displays around the museum, reminiscing and speaking about what life was like during that time, with comments such as ‘I remember it all’. They even tried on a soldier’s helmet to really take them back in time, which made them smile!

At the end of the trip, one of our residents said he had ‘enjoyed it all’ – so full marks to the museum which was so fascinating.

We’re looking forward to our next outing.
